[MWForum]Screen Size

I'm wondering if the issue of project page siZe is somehow related to
something I've noticed: Over the past several months I've downloaded a
number of Mworlds from websites - when I open them [ this is when I'm at
home working on my Mac ] the project pages are much smaller than the screen
and I too, can see sections of the desktop. The same issue doesn't arise at
work [ where I use IBM-type machines] If this IS just a Mac related issue
I'd appreciAte some advice on how to overcome the 'problem' . Graham

I called Shawn at LCSI with your question. As far as he knows, this is
an impossible situation. Projects cannot resize themselves. He is
wondering if perhaps you might have created the project when you were
working with a different screen resolution. In that case, the command
center and tool bar would display in the way you are accustomed to
seeing, but the project created at a different screen resolution would
appear small.

At any rate, Harvey has provided the logical solution: bring your old
project elements into a new project of the desired size. (These steps
only work on a PC; there is another way on a Mac; let me know if you
need the Mac instructions.) Specifically:

1) Open a new project in the same folder as the shrunken project. Let's
pretend the project is called I-Shrank!
2) If there is a page1 in your old project, then rename your empty page1
in your new project something else, such as "temp."
3) Type these three commands in the command center:
merge "I-Shrank! "shapes
merge "I-Shrank! "pages
merge "I-Shrank! "procedures
4) Remove the empty temporary page with this command: remove "temp
5) Make sure the new project functions properly with all elements
successfully imported. Then save the new project. If you use the same
name it will overwrite the old one, of course, so make sure you are
ready to do that or else modify the name slightly.

By the way, there is no harm in leaving an old MW 2.0_ project in its
original size even if it no longer fills your screen. (And MWPro
provides a gray "filler" to surround small project windows.)

Do remember that if you are sharing your projects with others, and if
they have a smaller screen resolution than you do, the project will not
display correctly. It is better to err on the side of too-small project
sizes than too-large ones. Also, for online sharing of projects,
smaller is definitely better!
