I like the advice given so far. I'll add a third suggestion. Sometimes if
I've needed a larger or smaller version of a shape, I've done this:
1) Place the shape on a turtle.
2) Resize the turtle by one of these methods:
a) Click the + or - magnifying glass button and then click the turtle,
OR
b) In the command center, type SETSIZE ___.
(The starting size of a turtle is 40.
SETSIZE 37 would make it slightly smaller, for instance.)
3) Stamp the turtle onto the background of the page, then drag the turtle out
of the way.
4) Click the dotted selection tool, then click and drag to surround the
stamped shape.
5) Edit -> Copy
6) Click once on a shape you don't need and then Edit -> Paste. This shape
will be a resized version of the original shape.
Using this method I've been able to create shapes that are enlarged or
shrunken close-up photos of faces, etc., without losing picture quality.
(I will forward the other responses to Samantha but let's see if we can
remember to CC our replies to the person asking, for the "ask an expert"
questions sometimes come from visitors who are not members of this forum, and
we cannot automate the CC'ing.)

how can i change the pixel size of a shape?
I can tell you how I do it in a Windows system. To my knowledge, there's no
way to do it entirely from within MicroWorlds. But Windows has a tool for it
in "Paint."
Right-click on the shape and do a "copy."
Launch "Paint" (in "Accessories").
In Paint, click on "Edit" -> "Paste." (the shape appears in the Paint project
area.)
In Paint, click on "Image" -> "Stretch/Skew." A dialog box appears that asks
the percentage change you want for both horizontal and vertical. Percentages
less than 100 will shrink the shape; more than 100 will swell the shape.
Click "OK" and -poof!- it's done.
Next, still in Paint, click "Edit" -> "Copy."
Now, return to MicroWorlds, right-click on an empty shape station, and click
"Paste."
That's it. The shrunken or swollen shape is there for you to use. My
experience is some shapes are more tolerent of changing size than others.
