The problem that you've run into is not really a MicroWorlds problem.
It happens when you send any Macintosh file across a Unix or a
Windows network. The Mac file looses it's Creator and Type codes
that are required for your Macintosh to know what program to
associate the file with. This usually results in a "blank icon" that
your Mac doesn't know what to do with.

OS 9 users can do the following. If you intend on downloading
projects (Mac and Windows) from the Web, set your File Exchange (in
the Control Panels of the Apple Menu) to map PRJ4 for .mw2 PC
extension and PRJZ for .mwz PC extension.
This should ensure that all Windows files with the extension ".mw2"
or ".mwz" downloaded from the Internet or copied from PC disks will
have the proper corresponding Mac type and icon.

If you have any existing "blank icons" They can be easily restored to
working order by using any of the many shareware products available
such as File Buddy and FileType. The codes required for a regular
(.mw2) project are: Creator: MWP1 Type: PRJ4 If you're working with a
compressed (.mwz) use: Creator: MWP1 Type: PRJZ

Keep in mind that the whole problem can also be avoided by simply
zipping or stuffing the file before you e-mail it or send it over a
network. Mac users (using MicroWorlds Pro) will also need to add a
.mw2 or a .mwz (if you saved as a compressed project) to the
project's file name before sending them to PC users. Mac 2.0 users
need to follow the steps found in the "converting read.me" found on
their MicroWorlds cd before any Windows users can open their projects.

Also to remind anyone using MicroWorlds EX that their projects (.mwx)
can't be read using any older (2.0 or Pro) versions of MicroWorlds.
However, you can create a .html template (under the File menu) and
send it along with the the project. At least this way people can
view your project using their internet browser.

Please don't hesitate to write me back with any questions.
