[MWForum]playing music parallely

I would like to add to Shawn's helpful information. I have had partial
success in launching two or more melodies created entirely by coding. Try
these steps:

1) Write each tune as a separate procedure, using the note command to
generate each note in each tune.
2) Use each of these tune names as the instruction for a turtle.
3) Activate all of the turtles at once with EVERYONE [CLICKON].

I tried with these 3 sample tunes (and 3 turtles):

to twinkle
note 60 4
note 60 4
note 67 4
note 67 4
note 69 4
note 69 4
note 67 8
note 65 4
note 65 4
note 64 4
note 64 4
note 62 4
note 62 4
note 60 8
end

to harmony1
note 72 16
note 72 8
note 72 8
note 74 8
note 72 8
note 71 8
note 72 8
end

to harmony2
note 64 16
note 65 8
note 64 8
note 62 8
note 60 8
note 67 8
note 64 8
end

When I typed
EVERYONE [CLICKON]
all three melodies played together for the first half of the short
composition, and then the harmonies dropped out; I don't know why. When I
tried slightly different harmonies I had slightly different results with all
3 tunes staying active (but missing the occasional note in the harmonies).
I don't know if this is a limitation of my computer's processing power
rather than a limitation of MicroWorlds. (I tried this experiment with
MicroWorlds Pro but I don't think the version makes a difference.) I don't
know what would happen with longer coded compositions. But I find it quite
amusing to create one's own programmed composition and "orchestra" even if
some of the musicians are unreliable and even if the music will never, uh,
climb the charts.
