Hi Jean,

Sorry for mispelling your name before.

Well, sure. Throughout the code are references to the items you've =
deleted. So now, when it can't find those items, it complains. =20

I think it would be more helpful for us to discuss those larger issues =
of what you'd prefer the whole thing to be like. Surely you don't want =
a program to demo just SETH, and nothing else. Or do you? =20

Maybe the idea of a separate page for each of the commands might help =
focus attention on one thing at a time. Then, maybe a page that has =
just the Turning and Moving commands as a group; and one for the Drawing =
with Coordinates as a group; and finally, all of them together, like it =
is now.

I think for a group of Logo teachers, you're all being surprisingly mute =
about this. Doesn't anybody else find this interesting?

For those of you who may have missed what we're discussing, there is a =
Project called "GraphicsBasics6" attached to the 4/6 forum posting with =
that subject line. Please note in the text of that posting there is =
also a request for information about one specific aspect of your =
experience with this Project.

Thanks,
Jeff

  Hi,

I thought it was working but now I get this:
tto does not like [SETPOSlabel] as input in STOPMOUSEDRAW

I thought it ws working boo hoo

    Hi Jeanne,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm curious why you'd want to demo only =
seth, and not the companion turning commands, lt and rt? Or the =
associated moving commands, fd and bk? Do you mean you'd like a =
separate page for each of those? That might be a really good idea, =
especially for very young students. It would be pretty easy to make it =
like that.

Did you notice the program is organized to help distinguish those =
turning and moving commands from the coordinate commands, setx, sety and =
setpos? These are two different "mindsets" for moving around on a =
graphics field: the former an "on-the-floor" turtle's-eye, horizontal =
view of the action; the latter an "on-the-ceiling" or vertical =
point-of-view. You may also notice, the program demonstrates how these =
two approaches can be freely mixed in the same drawing. It seems to me =
those are all important insights for students at some level.

Since you didn't mention anything about the setheading textbox =
misbehaving, may I assume it is working properly for you? Wendy =
suggested I send this to the forum expressly to find out if others =
experience the same problem she is having with it. I'm surprised no one =
has offered us any information about that.
